“If you really want an authentic, made-in-Alberta experience, visiting a working ranch might be your best option. Nestled up against the Rockies approximately 20 minutes south of Pincher Creek, The Lodge at Thanksgiving Ranch is the ultimate blend of luxury and grassroots Alberta ranching. The visuals on the property are stunning with massive herds of cattle roaming freely on the aspen-flecked hillsides. Rock-lined streams empty into postcard-perfect lakes that reflect the jagged peaks that frame the property. It’s about as idyllic as it gets. Guests can also roam the property, go horseback riding, and enjoy gourmet food.”

“When we showed up to the ranch we were floored - it is an amazing place with gorgeous views and fabulous people. The barn was decorated with lights, the table was set, and we got a peak at the dessert table. Brad and Christi are amazing hosts and every guest was handed a drink from their choice of Eau Claire Distillery or Wine from Willow Park Wines and Spirits!!!”

“My husband and I got married at Thanksgiving Ranch this summer past. Thanksgiving Rach was the perfect location for our small intimate wedding. Ourselves and our guests stayed at the Lodge for two nights around the wedding and we all truly enjoyed the experience. The ranch worked with us to plan the wedding that we wanted and were great to deal with from start to finish. I would highly recommend as a small wedding venue or even just for a weekend get away. The location is beautiful, food is fantastic, and the family who runs the Ranch and are your hosts are all really lovely.

“We cannot say enough about what a wonderful time our family had at Thanksgiving Ranch. Brad, Christi and Aiden are incredible hosts. Our 4 day stay was one of our most memorable vacations. From the awesome accommodations, to the incredible food, to the awe inspiring views and the amazing horse back ride. This is a must do for anyone that wants ranching in luxury, and with the kindest and warmest hosts you could imagine. Thank you for an incredible time.

“Thank you to the folks at Thanksgiving Ranch for a fabulous experience. From the beautiful location, well appointed lodge and the amazing food... all was on point. We booked in for a four night stay and had to add on an additional night to to extend our experience. It was a Birthday getaway, with the goal of addressing a longstanding fear of horses. The two rides turned out to be one of my favorite experiences - my horse Raymond was a dream, but they can accommodate all skill levels. It is also a working ranch, so if you have the opportunity to experience Brad "calling" the cattle, take advantage! Great experience!

The power and beauty of this ranch will leave you breathless. It is a unique spot in Canada and is a must see and stay. The hosts are wonderful people that make the stay relaxing and comfortable. Everything is top tier from the accommodations, to the food, to the stunning setting in which this ranch is located. I look forward to returning with family so that they can experience this place as well. This place is special.

“World class food/dessert, superb service, jaw dropping scenery & sunrise/sunset, wildlife, creek running through property, horseback riding, did I say amazing food? My wife and I just got married at Thanksgiving Ranch and it could not have turned out any better. Book a stay, your wedding or retreat and you will not be disappointed.

I had the best trail ride experience of my life. Ontario trails suck compared to what we saw on the ranch trails. Brad and Chris are such wonderful people. I enjoyed every minute of it. The horses are amazing from green riders to experienced riders. We will return again next time we visit in Alberta.

Thanksgiving Ranch is a slice of Heaven nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We hit the jackpot and experienced a beautiful spring weekend there this April. Every detail was significant at the Ranch. The fresh baked cookies after the most amazing horseback ride with breathtaking views was a highlight for us all, as well as the homemade soap, locally sourced honey, and house made Habanero jelly and Bustard’s mustard. There is certainly no shortage of activities on site at TR. Horseback riding, hiking, swimming in the indoor pool/sauna, reading by the fire, and stargazing were a few that our family took in while there.

The meals at Thanksgiving Ranch were 5 star quality. We had 2 dinners and 2 brunches at the Ranch. The steak dinner was by far the best steak I have ever had in my life and I dream about those waffles with homemade Saskatoon syrup and compote. I will be booking at Thanksgiving Ranch again as soon as possible. It truly was amazing and the respite that we all needed.

Some places stand out and deserve return! This is a great natural retreat ranch that offers wonderful lodging in a very beautiful setting at the base of the peaks of the Castle Wilderness and nearby Waterton Lakes National Park. Amazing hosts & food too. Why not make it your hiking base to explore the surrounding area.

“Stunning views of the Southern Alberta Rocky Mountains. Did the East side trail ride and it was truly enjoyable. Will be back to do the West. Friendly family. 10/10 recommend.

I stayed at the Ranch in August 2021 and had an amazing experience. The Ranch is a perfect place to recharge, relax and well as participate in activities such as trail riding, swimming and hiking. The hosts are very accommodating and provide comfortable rooms in the lodge along with a common area in which to read, complete a puzzle or play board games. Meals at the Ranch were absolutely wonderful! Quality good, well presented and extremely tasty. I highly recommend Thanksgiving Ranch for a getaway.

“Sadly, the weather was not on our side, but can’t control for that! Family weekend getaway. We have stayed in many beautiful getaway locations, and without a single doubt, the best food we’ve ever experienced. The property is breathtaking, and the most relaxing weekend we’ve had since the last blue moon. Highly recommended. We will be back.

“I was lucky enough to have my bridal shower and bachelorette party at the Thanksgiving Ranch facility and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. The location and landscape is absolutely stunning, and the lodge itself was pristine. I loved that it had a rustic cabin feel to it, and it felt so luxurious. The beds were SO comfortable! The indoor heated pool made out experience THAT much more fun! Everything was so clean and well kept. Last but not least, the food was SO good. I am celiac and cannot have gluten, and they were happy to cater to my needs, and made me the most incredible gluten free waffles I have ever eaten. I would recommend this stay to absolutely anyone, it will not disappoint. I hope to be back soon!

“This review is for the Bustard's Mustard and Habanero Jelly - they are delicious! Our neighbour bought them as a gift and we immediately had to find out where to get more. Thanks Bradley for the details - looking forward to buying more of your great products.

“Thanksgiving Ranch came highly recommended by a colleague. Simply put, it is an amazing riding experience, whether you are a novice or a seasoned rider. Brad and his family accompanied us on some of the most spectacular terrain I have ever ridden. Excellent for families.... Looking forward to returning for a stay in the lodge!

You guys HAVE to get your hands on some of “Bustard’s Mustard”. I was very generously gifted some this Christmas along with their caramel sauce, fudge sauce and jelly; and let me tell you, this stuff is AMAZING. The mustard pairs well with everything I’ve tried it on, and the Habanero jelly with Brie is to die for. I just ordered an entire box. I can’t get enough of this stuff.

“After hearing about Thanksgiving Ranch, we just knew it was somewhere to explore! Once you drive into Pincher Creek and turn onto the Ranch, you knew you were going to have an adventure! Once we settled in, we were greeted with a beautiful tour of the ranch and all the offerings of a glamping style getaway, not to mention a carefully crafted dinner to pair with the snow that was falling that evening. Brad and his team shared their beautiful lodge with us for an overnight trip we soon will not forget. There's lots to do and see, and if you're looking for a peaceful stay, this is truly the spot.
~ Baden Roth

This is one of the best places I have stayed at for so many reasons! The food is delicious, the scenery is spectacular, and the hosts are incredibly welcoming. If you are looking for a place to spend time with your friends and family away from the crowds this is the place to do it.
~ Erin Wilson

I went horseback riding with the owners of Thanksgiving Ranch and had a phenomenal time! They took to time to help me learn about how to care for a horse and set up a saddle and then we went on our way. The sights were beautiful and everyone was extremely friendly. I highly recommend TR and any of there services!

“Breathtaking mountain views and rustic luxurious comfort to relax and chill within the lodge cabin. If peace and tranquility is what you seek, you will find it at Thanksgiving Ranch. My husband and I were there for one night and were able to calm the pace of busy city lives with an incredible dinner and delicious breakfast with fresh ingredients - many homemade by Brad! Stunning fireplaces of local stones. Family heirloom antiques adorn the main floor. Lovely bedroom with fluffy down quilts to snuggle in alongside stylish bathroom suites with stamped local soap. The details matter here!
~ Leanne Popko

“We had a fantastic time here. Horse back riding, mountain biking, swimming and we loved the piano! Thank you so much for having us!

We will definitely be back!
~ Sarah Harvie

“We spent three very enjoyable days at the ranch. The location is spectacular with absolutely stunning views. Very quiet and relaxing, just 45 minutes from Waterton. We were made to feel very welcome by Brad and Christie, who did all they could to ensure that we had a wonderful stay. Brad served us a very substantial breakfast each morning. The beds were extremely comfortable (nice firm mattresses) and there was a large sitting area in which to relax. We spent one morning enjoying a long walk within the ranch boundaries. All in all a very good experience and one to be highly recommended.

“Thanksgiving Ranch is located in the southwest corner of Alberta, Canada - one of the most beautiful settings in the world. You will be awestruck by the majesty and beauty of the Rocky Mountains on your drive there and during your stay. The beautifully renovated Lodge is amazing with five bedrooms, including one with it's own fireplace. Up to ten people can sleep in the Lodge, plus another four in the separate guest suite. The Lodge is a very large log house that can comfortably hold anywhere from 5 to 50 people for a meeting, retreat, reception, wedding or family get together. Next to the Lodge in a separate building is a large swimming pool. The Barn has also been renovated and would be a great place for a outdoor BBQ event and the upstairs suite with kitchen makes a perfect meeting place. Brad and Christi are super hosts. Brad is an amazing chef and baker so you will be well looked after if you choose a package which includes food! Overall, a super place to stay. Highly recommend.

“Had an incredible experience horsebacking riding at Thanksgiving Ranch with our teenaged girls who don’t ride! Views and property were spectacular. Great family run business at an amazing location, delicious chocolate chip cookies still warm out of the oven on our return 🍪; just tried their house made honey mustard, deeeelicious! Brad, Christie and their sons were fantastic hosts who accommodated all our whims... we even got to ride through their cattle!!! Thanks Bustard’s, a real highlight of our trip 🤓
